So, I went on a diet a few months ago and lost around 15 lbs. I was pretty miserable and my head was not in the right space. I stopped the diet and gained back the weight. Sometimes it feels like there is a fine line between good eating habits and disordered eating, and so much of it has to do with THINKING.
I feel like I'm in the process of re-training my brain right now. As we get older our bodies change, metabolisms slow down, and we have to create new habits if we want to be in shape. My husband is a great cook. I've used this as an excuse to never become great at it myself. I've never loved vegetables, but I will say the one good thing that came from my last diet is I learned to tolerate vegetables a little better than before. Zucchini, asparagus (boiled) peppers, and cauliflower are some I've eaten a lot more of.
I got a gym membership and walk on the treadmill for about 30 min. a day. That may not sound like a lot, but it's a step in the right direction, and 30 min of quick paced walking helps me feel better mentally.
So now, I'm making more of a plan. I'm being more aware of the nutrients I'm putting into my body and making more specific goals. Here are 5 favorite meals of mine that include veggies and lean proteins. What are some of your favorite "Lean and Green" meals?
Taco Salad
Zoodle spagetti
Cauliflower Pizza
Salmon and Asparagus
Stuffed Peppers
